Modelling Surface Light Scattering for Inverse Two-Dimensional Reflector Design

چکیده

We present a novel approach of modelling surface light scattering in the context two-dimensional reflector design, relying on energy conservation and optimal transport theory. For isotropic cylindrically or rotationally symmetric systems with in-plane scattering, scattered distribution can be expressed as convolution between function, which characterises optical properties surface, specular distribution. Deconvolving this expression allows for traditional design procedures to used, whilst accounting scattering. This thus constitutes solving inverse problem allowing direct computation without need iterations.

NURBS-based Inverse Reflector Design

Commonly used direct rendering techniques simulate light transport for a complete scene, specified in terms of light sources, geometry, materials, participating media, etc. On the other hand, inverse rendering problems take as input a desired light distribution and try to find the unknown parts of the scene needed to get such light field. The latter kind, where inverse reflector design is inclu...

User-guided inverse reflector design

This paper proposes a technique for the design of luminaire reflector shapes from prescribed optical properties (far-field radiance distribution), geometrical constraints and user’s knowledge. This is an important problem in the field of Lighting Engineering, more specifically for Luminaire Design. The reflector’s shape to be found is just a part of a set of pieces called in Lighting Engineerin...

Some Inverse Scattering Problems for Two-dimensional Schrödinger Operator

Abstract -We prove that in two-dimensional potential scattering the leading order singularities (in some special cases all singularities) of unknown potential are obtained exactly by the Born approximation. The proof is based on new estimates for the continuous spectrum of the Laplacian and new estimates for the Green-Faddeev’s function in the weighted L-spaces. Using these estimates, we prove ...

Two-dimensional TiO₂ inverse opal with a closed top surface structure for enhanced light extraction from polymer light-emitting diodes.

Light-emitting diodes (LEDs), including organic LEDs and polymer LEDs, have been studied intensively for use in displays and interior lighting due to their promising advantages of high effi ciency, high contrast ratio, long lifetime and low power consumption. [ 1 , 2 ] However, in a conventionally structured LED, less than 20% of the generated light is emitted as useful radiation. [ 3 , 4 ] Not...

Three - Dimensional Electromagnetic Inverse Scattering

A numerical algorithm for the reconstruction of the permittivity of a three-dimensional penetrable object from scattering data is presented. The reconstruction algorithm is based on the local shape function method (LSF) combined with the conjugate gradient method with FFT (CGFFT). The nonlinearity due to the multiple scattering is accounted for in an iterative minimization scheme. Numerical exa...
